Dish racks: make the drainage work
Measure the counter area you can permanently spare, including the distance to the sink. If the rack uses a drain spout, check its direction and whether it can reach over the sink edge. Otherwise, plan how you will empty and clean the drip tray.
Count the items you dry in a typical meal rather than selecting the rack with the largest advertised capacity. Check plate-slot spacing, room for bowls and how cutlery drains. A tall rack can interfere with a window, tap or overhead cabinet even if its footprint fits.
Look for access to corners and removable components for cleaning. Material labels alone do not establish long-term durability, so read care instructions and warranty terms. Keep the rack stable on the surface and avoid loading it beyond the manufacturer's guidance.
This is a buying checklist, not a hands-on product review. Check the exact product specifications and seller terms before ordering.
